These are my picks for Week 13. Please comment to let me know your thoughts. If you would like me to explain a pick please let me know and I would be happy to explain. Thank you. Let’s continue to enjoy another football season.
Matt Murray has passed through waivers and will be assigned to the AHL’s Belleville Senators. It is Now Anton Forsberg and Filip Gustavsson in Ottawa.
Murray started his NHL career at the pinnacle of hockey. He was the first goalie ever to be a repeat Stanley Cup champion while still technically being classified as a rookie as a Pittsburgh Penguin. He was so valuable to Pittsburgh, that it led to future hall of famer, Marc-Andre Fleury, departing from the team he had been with for over a decade.
After Fleury left Pittsburgh for Vegas, the young Matt Murray had the keys to the kingdom. He didn’t have to worry about sharing the net with anyone. During his 3 years with the starting net all to himself, his stats began to decline along with the rest of the team.
Over the next 3 seasons, after the departure of Fleury, Murray faced the adversity of a team whose roster changed a lot since the cup victory, nagging injuries, and possibly long-term effects of COVID-19.
It is hard to say what went wrong and where it did, but Matt Murray was great in his rookie days. From ages 20 to 23, Murray was taking each league he played in by storm. In his first full year of professional hockey, he proved that the AHL was too easy for him with 12 shutouts in just 40 games played.
Entering his second pro year, the 2015-2016 hockey season, Murray left impressions everywhere. He played the majority of the regular season in the minors.
Injuries in Pittsburgh allowed him to start Game 3 at the age of just 23. He became the youngest goalie in franchise history to start in a playoff game. Despite Fleury eventually recovering from his injury and being fully able to play. He still backed up Murray the entire 2016 playoff run. Fleury had no opportunity to contribute to that Stanley Cup victory.
In the 2016-2017 year. Murray still remained the starter throughout the regular season and would have started the playoffs if it weren’t for a lower body injury in warmups of Game 1. While Murray recovered, Fleury carried the Penguins through rounds 1 and 2 and won one of the Penguins’ games in the conference finals.
After a blowout loss in Ottawa, the now healthy Murray took over for the rest of the playoffs and played just as well as the previous year’s cup run. Months later, Fleury went to Vegas in the expansion draft.
In 2017-2018, the Penguins were forced to change things up in the roster due to the salary cap. The team was competitive that next year but not another Stanley Cup winning team. Atop of the roster’s slow decline, Murray did not have the luck to stay healthy for a full season in the rest of his tenure with the Penguins.
After the 2020 bubble playoffs concluded, Murray was traded to Ottawa. It was widely thought to be a good change of scenery and a place for him to fit in with the young team.
A year later and just 33 games played, the now 27-year-old was waived and sent down back to the minors. For 24 hours, the two time Stanley Cup winner was up for grabs for anyone who wanted him. Nobody claimed him, so Murray will stay in the organization and hopefully take time to regroup.
Murray is only 27. There is so much time for him to find his game. His worries are also slightly lessened because of his 4-year contract signed last year.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone we are back for my game picks for Week 12 of the NFL season. I had a terrible 7-8 week bringing my overall record to 101-63-1. I hope everyone has a good and safe holiday weekend as well with a great slate of games to watch as we approach to playoff time. Be sure like always to comment at the bottom of this page and let me know what you think of my picks and give me yours. The talk is over let’s get to the picks.
Thanksgiving Day Games
Chicago (3-7) at Detroit (0-9-1)
Neither of these teams are good and it’s unfortunate this is the game we have to watch during Thanksgiving dinner. I can’t pick Detroit. I just can’t they have the worst roster in the league. Bears win a boring game to kick off Thanksgiving.
Winner: Bears 20-10
Las Vegas (5-5) at Dallas (7-3)
This should be a good game. Two good offenses and quarterbacks. Dallas just has too many weapons. I don’t see how Vegas can guard all of them. I do expect this to be a real close game though. Dallas wins a good one that goes down to the wire.
Winner: Cowboys 31-28
Buffalo (6-4) at New Orleans (5-5)
I don’t like what I’m seeing from New Orleans. This team is bad and due to injuries they probably won’t get much better this year. As much as I’d like to see them beat Buffalo I can’t see it. Buffalo rebounds as they head into a huge game with New England next week.
Winner: Bills 30-17
Sunday Afternoon Games
Pittsburgh (6-4-1) at Cincinnati (6-4)
I despise both of these teams for their idiot fanbases. I wish to God they’d tie or somehow both lose. I have to go with the Bengals because I don’t trust Pittsburgh’s offense. They are too inconsistent. Joe Burrow has a big day as the Bengals complete the season sweep of the Steelers.
Winner: Bengals 27-20
New York Jets (2-8) at Houston (2-8)
I would have put a better graphic up but neither team has a player worth putting in that spot. Harsh right? Wanna hear something odder? I’m picking the Jets. Yes, even off a huge win against Tennessee I am picking the team I told you all I’d never pick. We’ll see how it goes but for now, hell has frozen over.
Winner: Jets 19-18
Tampa Bay (7-3) at Indianapolis (6-5)
This might end up being the game of the day. The Colts dominated Buffalo last week and Tampa is going to have to slow down Jonathon Taylor. The guy is on fire right now. I got Tom Brady leading Tampa to a game-winning drive in the fourth as Tampa stays right in the thick of the races for the number one seed in the NFC.
Winner: Bucs 26-24
Atlanta (4-6) at Jacksonville (2-8)
I’m just picking this because I have to. I’m picking Atlanta and there is no way I’m watching any of this game. Next.
Winner: Falcons 17-10
Carolina (5-6) at Miami (4-7)
I like this Christian McCaffrey and Cam Newton duo. I know they lost last week but it was Cam’s first start since the preseason. I think Cam plays just well enough to beat a Miami team that has been playing much better as of late. It’s so nice to see Cam back out on the field playing again.
Winner: Panthers 21-19
Tennessee (8-3) at New England (7-4)
This game means a lot to both teams as far as seeding in the playoffs and could play into the number one seed in the AFC. I just think New England is getting better and better and Tennessee is still adjusting to life without Derrick Henry. Let’s be real, Ryan Tannehill is basically Andy Dalton without him. Mac Jones impresses again as New England climbs a little bit further up the AFC. Big game for Jonnu Smith against his former team.
Winner: Patriots 27-17
Philadelphia (5-6) at New York Giants (3-7)
Jalen Hurts has been playing better and suddenly the Eagles are getting hot and with that 7 seed in the NFC up for grabs, they have a lot to play for. The Giants are just trying to see if Daniel Jones is the guy as they trend to another losing season. Eagles win a physical game and get to 500 as their hot streak continues.
Winner: Philadelphia 24-14
Sunday Evening Games
Los Angeles Chargers (6-4) at Denver (5-5)
I trust Justin Herbert more than Teddy ” I won’t tackle a guy after I throw an interception” Bridgewater. Simple as that. Chargers get up early and run the ball in the second half to get the win.
Winner: Chargers 26-17
Los Angeles Rams (7-3) at Green Bay (8-3)
The Rams have looked lost the last few weeks but that is a big reason why I see them winning this game. Coming off a bye I expect this team to look more like they did at the beginning of the year. Green Bay is going to put up points and I do expect a shootout but I just think Matthew Stafford rebounds big time after his last two bad games. Packers kicker Mason Crosby misses a game-winning field goal attempt as time expires.
Winner: Rams 34-32
Minnesota (5-5) at San Francisco (5-5)
Toss up game. Heads for Minnesota tails for San Francisco. Tails never fails. Jimmy G let’s keep it going.
Winner: 49ers 24-23
Sunday Night Game
Cleveland (6-5) at Baltimore (7-3)
Maybe I’m just stupid but I feel like Baker is going to play very well this week. He’s been awful the last month and is due to have a great game. I’m assuming Lamar is back for Baltimore but I think the Browns squeak out a huge win to keep them in the thick of the AFC playoff hunt.
Winner: Browns 27-25
Monday Night Game
Seattle (3-7) at Washington (4-6)
I just trust Washington more than Seattle. I feel like this is Russell Wilson’s last year there and they are going to lose a bunch more before this season is over. Washington keeps themselves alive in the NFC playoff picture.
Winner: Washington 30-20
Byes: Arizona, Kansas City

Thanksgiving once again has come and past and this is a time that most people sit back and look at what they are thankful for and reflect. Regardless of when you read this I want this to make a difference in your line of thinking. This is also a time that people dread because of lack of friends, family or other various reasons. The world we live in today, let’s be honest, is in very bad shape. It’s hard at times to be happy or positive and I for sure understand that. I consider myself one of those people. Personally, it’s easier for me to blame or deflect blame onto other people for why things don’t go my way than to take responsibility for myself. The point I’m trying to make is, in order to improve yourself and live a happier life you need to understand the things that are important. Basically, the things in your life that make you happy. This time of year I always start to reflect on the past year. I think about the positives, negatives and all that I wish I could go back and fix. The year of 2021 will go down as one of the worst in history not just for me. We are still in the middle of a national pandemic where hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives, homes, businesses and hope. Hope is key. What is hope? Hope is what you should have waking up each morning and being confident that each day will be a good day and what you are doing is right and will bring you happiness. This is where Thanksgiving comes into play. I know what you all are already thinking. Why am I listening to this guy just ramble? There is a point to this and this is it. Thanksgiving is the perfect time to reflect and reflecting is a great thing to do. But, I want you all to understand what being thankful REALLY means, to me at least.
In life we take a lot of things for granted whether it be family, friends, our jobs, food, water, shelter or whatever else. These are things that you really don’t recognize are valuable until they’re gone. I’ve experienced that first hand. It’s a shame that most of the time I see my family, outside of my mom, dad and sister, is when we are going to a funeral or the hospital because someone is either dead or ill. Be thankful for your family, they are the most important thing in this life to you. If you are in one of those positions where you don’t get along with a family member I encourage you to try, try, and try again to show them how important they are to you. Life is way too short and you will end up regretting it once that member passes on and regret isn’t something you want to live with. For example, I complain about my job at least 300 times a week it seems. Hell I left my good job and went to one that treated me like crap and lost a few months pay and now I am not as stable financially as I need to be. Being able to go to work and make money to provide for myself is something I will never ever take for granted again. The ability to go see my family is another thing. I wasn’t about to go over and see my family on weekends like I normally do and that hurt. It makes you think what life would be like if you were never able to see them again. It’s a scary thought. When I first had the symptoms of COVID-19 last year, I honestly thought I was going to die. I laid in my bed with the chills, my heart racing and a headache so bad I could barely lift my head off of mypillow. I lie there and all I could think of is things I regret. I’m 31 years old and my priorities are all over the place. I don’t spend time with family like I should. I don’t treat people well at times and act like a selfish a$$ hole. I haven’t accomplished stuff in life that I want to and I feel outside of my family if I were to die it would make no impact on people outside of my family. It’s not I want to die in a blaze of glory but I want to make an impact on this world, a positive one, before I pass on. I have failed to do that. At times I’ve failed as a friend, son and man. These are the things people really need to focus on when reflecting. I am going to take the next step of my life and improve as a person, friend and man. I’m going to do what I can to make this world a better place and have a positive effect on people around me. Live your best life is what they say right? I plan to start doing that.
Yep, that’s me alone just walking. But to get get back to my point. It’s hard right? Life is hard. This Thanksgiving as I was sitting around the table I approached everything different. The uncle that drives you nuts every year and you can’t wait until he eats so he can go home, what if this is the last Thanksgiving you have with him. I took advantage of the time I had with him today. We all have those family members though right? We all have things in life that we dislike or even “hate”. My advice is sit back and reflect and ask yourself this: Am I really doing enough to be the best person I can be? Instead of poking fun at people struggling, is there some way I can help them instead? Can I be a better son, mother, father, cousin or whatever. Life is short WAY too short and the chances are you don’t realize you have until it’s gone. This year hasn’t been the best for many people and it hasn’t really been in our control. There is one thing in your control and that’s you. Be the best person you can be. Encourage, motivate and show love for the close ones around you and always be there for them. Help make this world a better and more positive place because trust me we need it. I have been the absolute worst at this! I fell for a girl that wasn’t worth my effort. I have hurt friends that didn’t deserve it. I have been hurt by friends and can’t find the strength to forgive them. I have watched friends do stupid $hit and not be able to help. LIFE IS HARD. You should only worry about what you can control. Remember it’s okay to not be okay and you need to rely on your support system. That’s why they are there. I got a lot to work on. Make this the time to take a new approach and make this a critical time in your life where you make a change for the better in your life whatever that is. Sit down for dinner, smile, laugh, watch football or do whatever activity your family does. I hope this helps and if you have any comments please put them at the bottom of the page and I’ll for sure read them. Thanks for reading and have a great Thanksgiving and holidays everyone. Let’s make 2022 a better year and make it a better world.

The 90s also saw boy bands emerge with the New Kids On The Block, Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, 98 Degrees, Hanson and a list of hit female artists Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Destiny’s Child.
Backstreet Boys – Everybody (Backstreets Back) [1997]
MC Hammer – U Can’t Touch This [1990]
Michael Jackson – Black Or White [1991]
Hanson – Mmmbop [1997]
Aqua – Barbie Girl [1997]
Ace of Base – The Sign [1994]
Britney Spears – Baby, On More Time [1998]
Lou Bega – Mambo Number 5 (A Little Bit Of…) [1999]
Hi, it’s Aaron Truesdale and I’m back and ready to give you the fantasy advice you need for the upcoming NFL season. I’m so sorry but unfortunately, due to health issues, I have decided to shorten my start/sit column for at least the rest of this season. Thank you all for understanding and I hope you all still enjoy all the content that I am still able to give you. Be sure to follow me on Twitter.
Now, let me tell you a little bit about my start/sit column. Each week I will be giving my top 3 starts & my top 3 sits at each position. There will be a start & sit of the week at each position with projections. My column will not include the automatic starters. Automatic starters are guys you don’t bench unless they’re injured or on a bye week. I am going to give 2 examples of automatic starters at each position. QB: Josh Allen & Patrick Mahomes, RB: Christian McCaffery & Dalvin Cook, WR: Tyreke Hill & Stefon Diggs, TE: Travis Kelce & George Kittle, K: Justin Tucker & Harrison Butker. For defenses, Pittsburgh Steelers & Los Angeles Rams. Now, I’ve added a twist to my article that will mention a sleeper of the week at each position who did not make my top 3 starters list. Also, a player that is most likely on the waiver wire that you can stream if you’re in a jam at a position. Let’s get it going with Week 12.
Hurts has come on lately and looks like a franchise quarterback. He will continue that success against the Giants. He will make plays with his arm and his legs and that combination makes Jalen Hurts an explosive fantasy football quarterback. So sit back and watch him explode all over the Giant’s defense.
Kirk Cousins vs SF
SIT
Baker Mayfield vs BAL
Projection: 15/42 |188 YDS|3 INTS|1 FL
Mayfield has way too many injuries to trust in fantasy football. For that reason alone he should be avoided at all costs.
Cam Newton vs MIA
Mac Jones vs TEN
SLEEPER
Tyrod Taylor vs NYJ
Taylor has a sweet matchup against the Jet’s horrible defense. Taylor is an underrated quarterback in the NFL and he is in for a big week. So if you need a bye week fill-in don’t be shy and pick up and start Taylor.
START
David Montgomery vs DET
Projection: 25 CAR|148 YDS|2 TDS|4 REC|30 YDS
Montgomery should have knocked all of his rust off and will start to shine again. So therefore he is due for a breakout game. This will happen against a terrible Lions defense.
Joe Mixon vs PIT
James Robinson vs ATL
SIT
Myles Gaskins vs CAR
Projection: 11 CAR|33 YDS|2 REC|15 YDS
Gaskins has a pattern he will have a good game than a bad game last week he had a good week. So this week will be a bad week for him. Gaskins is best left on the bench against the Panthers.
Zach Moss vs NO
DeAndre Swift vs CHI
SLEEPER
Ty Johnson vs HOU
Carter is out for a couple of weeks with an ankle sprain. So now is a good time to pick up Johnson and start him if you’re in a jam at running back this week.
START
Diontae Johnsonvs CIN
Projection: 9 REC|155 YDS|2 TDS
Johnson is a target machine. He is Big Ben’s go-to guy. Johnson will find every hole possible in that solid Bengals defense. He will exploit those holes on his way to a career day.
Michael Pittman vs TB
Brandin Cooks vs NYJ
SIT
Jarvis Landry vs BAL
Projection: 5 REC|26 YDS
Mayfield being so banged up will hurt Landry’s production. It’s a domino effect one falls then they all fall. Just avoid Landry and any Browns wide receiver at this point.
D.K. Metcalf vs Was
Tee Higgins vs PIT
SLEEPER
Russell Gage vs JAX
With Ridley still gone the Falcons need a receiver to step up that is not named Pitts and that man, this week will be Gage because of the plus matchup against the Jaguars. So if you need someone to jump into a starting WR spot and like matchups then Gage is your man.
START
Dalton Schultz vs LV
Projection: 6 REC|77 YDS|2 TDS
With so many injuries in the Cowboys wide receiving core Schultz will have a bigger role in the Cowboy’s offense. So with more opportunities means more production. With Cooper and Lamb not likely to suit up this week that will make Schultz a no-brainer.
Rob Gronkowski vs IND
Kyle Pitts vs JAX
SIT
Evan Engram vs PHI
Projection: 0 REC|0 YDS
Engram had some light shined on him and he looked to revitalize his career but that was a premature assumption. So my advice is to stand back and watch him fizzle out and feel free to put Engram back on the waiver wire.
Tyler Conklin vs SF
Dawson Knox vs NO
SLEEPER
Daniel Parham Jr vs DEN
Parham seems to be getting more target also he is a huge red-zone target. So if you want to go get sleeper at the tight end position then I would pick up and start Parham.
Evan McPherson vs PIT
Projection: 2 XPS|3 FGS
McPherson is facing a tough Steelers defense which will lead to plenty of field goal opportunities that he will capitalize on. Also McPherson is kicking machine. Pick up and ride him for the rest of the season.
Greg Joesph vs SF
Mason Crosby vs LAR
SIT
Robbie Gould vs MIN
Projection: 2 XP|1 MXP
Gould won’t have many field goal opportunities he will only have extra point opportunities. Extra points lead to a low score for Gould in fantasy football.
Chase McLaughlin vs BAL
Younghoe Koo vs JAX
SLEEPER
Joey Syle vs SEA
Syle is a kicker who flies under the radar and gets lost in the shuffle in the NFL. So if you need a kicker this week go and snag Syle and start him.
Ravens is a tough defense to face when you’re healthy but with opposing quarterback Baker Mayfield all banged up it becomes even tougher. The Ravens will feast on the wounded.
Buffalo vs New Orleans
Dallas vs Las Vegas
SIT
San Francisco vs Minnesota
Projection: 36 PTS|520 YDS|3 SKS| 1 FF|1 FR
The 49ers have been playing great football the last few weeks but they will get knocked back down to earth by a dangerous Vikings offense. That 49ers defense won’t know what hit them.
Indianapolis vs Tampa Bay
Denver vs Los Angeles Chargers
SLEEPER
Chicago vs Detroit
Most people play matchups when it comes to defenses in fantasy football. So with Boyle likely to be the starting quarterback again this week for the Lions because of that, the Bears couldn’t be happier so this is the week you can trust the Bear’s defense. Play the matchup and start the Bear’s defense.
I had a lot of fun writing this and I hope all of my week 12 start/sit advice helps everyone. Also if you need more explanation on a player just leave me a comment I will be happy to give you one. I’ll be back next week with more fantasy start/sit advice.
